Cultural Heritage Imaging Science (organiser, virtual due to COVID-19). SIAM IS 20, Toronto, 2020. (Type: Workshop | Abstract | Links)@workshop{Parisotto2020c, Organisers: Dr Simone Parisotto (University of Cambridge, UK), Dr Dzemila Sero (Centrum Wiskunde en Informatica, NL) Part I: Prof Holly Rushmeier (Yale University, US) Dr Vanna Lisa Coli (Université Côte d’Azur, INRIA, CNRS, FR) Dr Marta Domínguez-Delmás (University of Amsterdam, NL) Part II: Dr Francien Bossema (Centrum Wiskunde & Informatica, NL) Dr Leonardo Impett (Biblioteca Hertziana, IT) Part III: Prof Barak Sober (Duke University, US) Dr Simone Parisotto (University of Cambridge, UK) Dr Dzemila Sero (Centrum Wiskunde & Informatica, NL) Cultural Heritage Science is an emerging topic in the imaging community, which combines the expertise in data science (applied mathematics, computer science, engineering, mathematical modeling, imaging science and other related fields) with humanities scholars and conservators. The non-invasive digital analysis of databases and imaging collections in the arts and humanities have been mostly overlooked in the past years. This mini-symposium will provide a platform to stimulate the scientific discussion and interdisciplinary collaborations in the field. |
Mathematics for Applications in Cultural Heritage (organiser). Fitzwilliam Museum, Cambridge, 2019. Mathematical Imaging Models for Cultural Heritage Conservation (organiser). ICIAM 2019, Valencia, 2019. (Type: Workshop | Abstract | Links)@workshop{Parisotto2019e, Mini-symposium part of ICIAM 2019. Organisers: Dr Simone Parisotto (University of Cambridge, UK), Dr Luca Calatroni (CMAP, École Polytechnique) Invited Spearkers: Dr Luca Calatroni (CMAP, École Polytechnique, FR) Dr Miguel Rodrigues (University College London, UK) Dr Marco Potenziani (Visual Computing Lab – Isti – CNR, IT) Dr Claudia Daffara (University of Verona, IT) Over the last thirty years, the use of digital image processing methods applied to Cultural Heritage conservation became an extremely active area of research. Non-destructive techniques supporting the work of art conservators range nowadays from compressed sensing to high-resolution image restoration models and have been successfully applied to enhance and/or fuse information in images acquired via different modalities both in the visible and in the invisible spectrum. In the mini-symposium we aim to promote the scientific discussions in this area by gathering experts in the field and presenting their contributions in the restoration of several artwork pieces. |

Cambridge Analysts’ Knowledge Exchange (C.A.K.E.) Seminar Series (organiser). University of Cambridge, 2015. (Type: Workshop | Abstract | Links)@workshop{Parisotto2015, Organisers: Mr Simone Parisotto (University of Cambridge, UK), Mr Cambyse Rouzé (University of Cambridge, UK) This seminar series is organised by CCA students as a platform for graduate students and post-docs of the analytic persuasion to present their work to the wider analysis community. The ultimate goal being to encourage cross-fertilisation of ideas between people working in the many different fields of analysis. Discussion and collaboration will form an integral part of the series. As such we aim to have talks which stimulate questions and lead to interesting discussion over coffee and cake. |
Autumn School in Image Processing 2014 (organiser). University of Verona, 2014.
